Kahlua Cake Trifle

My first blog post will be a rather simple recipe to start off. Even though it is super simple and easy, it is ridiculously delicious. I really like to make stuff from scratch as much as possible but this is one of those recipes where its totally okay to go with store bought. No one will care how or what it was made with once they get a mouthful of this trifle heaven.

Ingredients:
1 box chocolate cake mix (dont forget to buy the ingredients you need for the brand of cake your using!)
2 boxes chocolate instant pudding
4 cups milk (i used whole milk)
2 containers of cool whip
1 nip of kahlua or more if kahlua is your thing
1 bag toffee chips

-Bake chocolate cake in sheet pan according to directions on box.
-Whisk 2 packets of chocolate pudding mix with four cups of cold milk. Usually whisk for about 2 minutes and then let it set for about 5 minutes in the fridge.
-Once chocolate cake is baked and cooled, start to break it into pieces and forming your first layer in the trifle dish.
-Drizzle chocolate cake with kahlua, the amount really depends on your personal preference.
-Next, spread a layer of chocolate pudding.
-Next, spead a layer of cool whip
-Next, spead a layer of toffee
-Start again with the chocolate cake and repeat the order. The top layer should be cool whip with the toffee chips sprinkled on top. I added a couple chocolate chips because I had them laying around but its not necessary.

I keep mine refrigerated until its ready to serve. Other than that, theres nothing else to it!
